💬 About your guide:

I’m Candice, a certified Buteyko Method instructor with a background in health science, personal training, and respiratory coaching. I came to this work through personal experience — noticing that my own breathing habits were affecting everything from focus to fatigue.

Learning to retrain my breath changed how I approached recovery and resilience. I’ve combined that experience with formal training to create this course: a clear, practical way to learn what I wish I’d known earlier.

Breathe less. Settle the system.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • Yes. The Buteyko Method is not recommended for:

    • Children under four

    • Pregnant individuals

    • People with certain medical conditions, including:
      • Arterial aneurysm
      • Very high, uncontrolled blood pressure
      • Recent heart issues (within the past 3 months)
      • Uncontrolled hyperthyroidism
      • Known brain tumors
      • Kidney disease

Some conditions may require additional medical clearance or supervision from a qualified instructor, such as:

    • Diabetes

    • Severe asthma or emphysema

    • Epilepsy or schizophrenia

    • Unstable blood pressure or chest pain

If you have Long Covid, it is strongly recommended that you receive medical clearance before starting breathing practices. If symptoms worsen or you feel unwell at any time, stop immediately and seek medical advice.

  • This course was built exactly for that. All breathing practices are designed to be gentle, short, and self-paced. You’re not expected to do everything — just start small, listen to your body, and go slowly. Even a few minutes of breathing can begin to shift your system.

  • Most breathwork or mindfulness practices focus on how breathing makes you feel in the moment — usually using deep breathing to relax or clear the mind.

Buteyko is different. It focuses on how you're breathing all the time — not just during exercises. It helps correct chronic patterns like over-breathing, mouth breathing, or upper chest breathing that can quietly contribute to symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, dizziness, or shortness of breath.

This method is based on the science of CO₂ sensitivity, nasal breathing, and diaphragmatic control. It’s not about breathing more — it’s about breathing less, but better.

  • No. Dysfunctional breathing isn’t always obvious — it can show up as fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, or just feeling “off.” If your breathing has changed since long Covid (or before), these tools can help retrain your system and support recovery.

  • For many people, yes — especially symptoms related to breathing, fatigue, or nervous system regulation.

This course isn’t a cure, and it won’t resolve every symptom. But retraining how you breathe can be a powerful support tool. It may help reduce things like breathlessness, air hunger, or overactive stress responses — all of which are common in long Covid.

The approach is gentle, self-paced, and based on science — and it’s something you can explore safely, at home, in your own time.

  • That’s completely okay. Many people begin this course by just watching or listening — especially if fatigue, brain fog, or overwhelm are present. You don’t need to do everything right away. The learning itself is valuable, and the exercises will be there when you feel ready to explore them.
